The Wild Robot
I am not really the type of person to cry during movies and books. Sure I sometimes get sad, but I never usually react visibly. However, when it came to the Wild Robot, not only was I crying at the end of the movie, but also at the halfway point. I didn’t know a movie had the capability to affect me this much until the Wild Robot.
The music was one of the most memorable parts. The notes have been engrained in my head like a Hans Zimmer soundtrack, which surprised me so much, because this is a kids movie. Like who spent this much time perfecting the theme to make it this iconic? Music is a big reason the most emotional scenes feel that way. Like Roz letting her kid fly off with the rest of the birds, her saving the animals of the island during the blizzard, and of course the ending. The animations are also absolutely gorgeous in The Wild Robot. The color palette, art style, and texture are so beautiful and memorable. It’s easy to tell that the animators put their heart and soul into this.
The story might seem cliche, like found family, but I promise, the way it’s done in this movie is completely new and groundbreaking. The only reason I haven’t rewatched it is because it would be too painful to see it end again. But yeah, EVERYONE has to watch this movie.
Update: This movie is a natural 10/10.
